Booths with biometric machines are being set up across the city to ensure that when a woman takes an auto, she gets a safe ride. But both, Gurgaon women and autowallahs, have their doubts. The Gurgaon Traffic Police has started a drive for city autos, where auto drivers have been asked to register with the police with their driving license, registration certificate and fingerprints on biometric machines. Once these registered autos get an 'OK' sticker from the police, any woman taking an auto in Gurgaon is to make sure that the autowallah punches in at a police booth, and the machine approves him.
